More New Databases & Another Trial Database

Medicine Hat College Library Services has added two more databases to its collection. The new databases are the Chilton Library.com and Associations Unlimited, and the trial database is The Literary Reference Center.

The Chilton Library.com is a database for the automotive enthusiast. In this database, you will find detailed specifications for thousands of domestic and foreign vehicles. The database goes back as far as 30 years and covers a variety of make and model combinations from those years.

Associations Unlimited is a directory of organizations from the USA and around the world. Approximately 460,000 nonprofit membership organizations are listed.

The Literary Reference Center is a trial database from EBSCO. This database has more than 1,000 books and monographs, reference materials, and literary journals. Subject matter ranges from antiquity to contemporary time periods.

Campus and home access is available to staff and students for all of the resources. The Literary Reference Center will be accessible until late October/early-November 2006.

New Databases & Trial Database

Medicine Hat College Library Services has recently added two new database resources to its holdings. The databases are Gale's Academic OneFile and EBSCO's Business Source Complete. The Book Index with Reviews (also from EBSCO) is a trial database that is available until June 2007.

Academic OneFile is a large general database that provides indexing, citation, and abstracts for more than 9,000 periodical publication. More than 5,000 of these titles are available in full-text. This database also provides full-text coverage from the New York Times since 1995.

Business Source Complete is the largest collection of full-text business journals that is currently available. It includes searchable cited references from 1,200 academic journals. Indexing and abstracts from some of the journals date back to 1886.

The Book Index with Reviews is a trial database that offers information on hundreds-of-thousnads of books. Books reviews accompany some of the entries.

Academic OneFile and Business Source Complete are among some of the initial offerings from the Lois Hole Campus Alberta Digital Library. It is because of our partnership with The Alberta Library (TAL) that we can offer home users (staff and students) access to these resources.
